LET'S TALK ABOUT THINGS TO DO IN SOUTHEAST PA!

I've talked about my favorite places to dine in Southeast, Pa. Although eating is at the top of my list of things to do, there is so much more to this area of the state then food!

Let's start in Morgantown, which is where our home office is located. If you appreciate good wine with good atmosphere, you will love Kog Hill Winery. They not only offer wine, in a relaxing, yet fun atmosphere, but hold events throughout the year from comedy to karaoke. They have a nice selection of wines, of course, including red and white that range from sweet to dry. I'd suggest the Blackberry Merlot, but you can find out what you like best by partaking in a wine tasting.

While in Morgantown, you have to stop at the largest antique boutique in Berks County. The Morgantown Market spans 10,000 sq. ft. just filled with antiques, new items, vintage items, collectibles, clothing and accessories. You could literally spend 2 hours browsing this amazing place.

From Morgantown, let's go southwest to Lancaster. Lancaster is one of my favorite places to visit. There is a ton to do there. Lots of shopping including outlets, boutiques and malls, plus a ton of sightseeing where you can have fun and learn something new! If you'd like a truly authentic experience, you have to take an Amish tour. You'll discover the highlights of Lancaster while immersing yourself into the local Amish and Mennonite communities, all while being led by a guide who has local roots to the community. A must to visit is the Lancaster Central Market. There is literally something for everyone, with wonderful food choices including fresh veggies, fruits and cheeses to baked goods and coffees. Fun fact, this is the oldest continuously running public farmer's market in the country. Yep! Right here in Lancaster.

Just 6 minutes from one of our communities in Bridgeport, Pa, you'll find yourself in Norristown. What would I suggest here? The Elmwood Park Zoo. The zoo is home to the largest cat in America - the Jaguar! You'll find a wide variety of mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles. This is definitely worth a visit.

I couldn't possibly write a blog about things to do in Southeast Pa and not include the King of Prussia Mall. This is a place I have frequented many times and always find shops and apparel I can't find in my own hometown. I must confess, I think my favorite part of this visit was dining at the Cheesecake Factory. The food is always worth the stop and the portions are huge. Then there's the actual cheesecake. The worst part is trying to decide what kind to get. I tend to stick with anything that includes chocolate and peanut butter. But my guess is you can't go wrong whatever you decide.

Regardless what you are looking for, I'm certain that Southeast, Pa has it. While you are out and about exploring the area, I invite you to make a pit stop at one of our beautiful communities.
