When I bought my first home, a fireplace was not on my mind as a luxury I needed to have. By chance, my first home did, in fact, have a wood burning fireplace, that we quickly converted to propane. A fireplace was on my "must-have" list for each home after this. I love the character, warmth and coziness it brings to a room. When adding a fireplace here are the things you will get to choose from:

• Type - You have the flexibility to choose a 32" or 36". A slate surround is included, while an upgrade is available in stone, granite, or marble. A floor-to-ceiling stone option is also available for the 36" fireplace.
• Mantle - This is the top portion of the fireplace surround and is likely found to be flat on top. Finish options include paint or a stain.
• Surround - This sets the tone of the feeling you are going for. The surround is the object that sticks out from the outer wall of a fireplace into the room and surrounds the fireplace opening. It is usually made up of sides and a mantel. Options include Granite, Slate or Stone.
• Blower Fan Kit - The blower is an electric device that goes into the fire box, making the fireplace more efficient.
