Redesign Your Life: Integrating Wellness Trends Into Your New Homes

We are all familiar with self-care such as yoga, meditation, and healthy eating. But did you know that your home design is an integral part of your self-care journey?

By designing your home to integrate wellness trends, you can transform it into a sanctuary for a healthy, happy life.

Here are some ways to start creating your own home sanctuary to integrate wellness into your new home.

Natural Light

Yes, that good old Vitamin D we all crave. Sunlight has many benefits such as bettering your mood, increasing wakefulness and on the flip side of that, promotes improved sleep, promotes eye health and helps with heart disease prevention. So, open up those curtains and pull up the blinds and let the sunshine in.

Design Peaceful Spaces

Create a space that is quiet and comfortable. A space where you can go to relax, read a book, take a nap or simply just sit with your thoughts. Add some comfortable pillows, a chair, a couch, plus some soft lighting and you are set.

Clean Air

Invest in a quality air purifier to remove allergens and other pollutants from the air you are breathing in your home. Add some green plants, which through photosynthesis, convert the carbon dioxide we breathe in into fresh oxygen. They are also known to remove toxins from the air.

Filtered Water

Just like the air, the quality of water you drink is crucial to your well-being. Install water filters which remove impurities.

Workout Area

Exercise is an important component of our health and wellness, in both mind and body. Something as simple as incorporating a standing desk into your home office to keep you moving and not sitting all day is a good place to start. Space permitting, create an area you can fit your yoga mat for some stretching exercises or meditation. A piece of stationary equipment like a bike or treadmill is a great way to keep moving and getting your heartrate up.

By incorporating these few, relatively easy ideas into your home, you are taking the first steps into a journey of integrating wellness into your home and life!
