Deck and Patio Season has Arrived!

As far as I'm concerned, deck and patio season has finally arrived, and this outdoor living space deserves to be used and enjoyed.

I don't think it matters what you enjoy using this space for, entertaining guests, reading a good book, enjoying a meal with your family or simply taking in the sunshine, you're going to want it to be functional, stylish and comfortable, am I right?

Here are some things you can include on your deck or patio to make the most of this space:

1.) Comfortable seating. Whether you prefer a chaise lounge, love seat or Adirondack chairs, you'll want to ensure that they are water resistant and can withstand the elements.

2.) If you love to entertain with meals, then a dining area is a must have for you. Search for a table and chairs that are comfortable. If your patio/deck is not covered, you may want to consider an umbrella for those sunny, hot days.

3.) A grill. This is a great way to make meals for your guests or your family. I can already smell the hot dogs and hamburgers grilling to perfection.

4.) Outdoor lighting. Nothing adds a warm and inviting environment then the soft lighting you'll find with string lights. Another great option would be solar powered lights to install around the lower perimeter of your deck or patio. Add some wind chimes and you'll have the perfect setting.

5.) Plants are an easy way to add dimension and color to your space. Grab some hanging plans, as well as some potted plants to place around.

6.) Outdoor carpet. This adds a sense of style and hominess to the space.

7.) Citronella candles. This will help keep the bugs at bay so you can enjoy this outdoor living space without a gnat in your salad or a mosquito buzzing in your ear.

By incorporating some or all of of these features to your deck or patio, I'm sure that your outdoor living space will be nothing short of paradise in your own backyard, to enjoy for the months to come!
